I thought it was one the typical remembrance sites from a car accident, they're everywhere beside the roads here. In this case nine locals (2 women and 7 men) were accused by their neighbours of being Republican sympathisers, not combatants or local politicians. The nine locals were shot by the side of the road, one of the women was raped before being killed. So barbaric it made me think of the "witches" who were accused by neighbours is Salem and Ipswich Mass. You'd think we might have moved on in 350 years.
